You had dreams. Once upon a time you had passion and talent for theatre, art, dance, music … But all that’s gone now – buried under “real life” and responsibilities. You learned the hard way it’s true what THEY said, “You can’t pay the bills with dreams. You can’t raise a family on dreams.” You bought into the idea that you’ll never ‘make it’ because the trade-offs are too high.

You convinced yourself it’s either/or. You’ve convinced yourself you can’t have the life you once dreamed of because:
…you’re a mom
…you’re the bread-winner
…you don’t live in New York or L.A.
…you have house payments, car payments, college loans and mountains of debt.
…you’re too old, too fat, too tall, and too late.

Yes. These self-imposed limitations ARE convincing and pervasive, but I’ll wager you wouldn’t be reading this if somewhere in some secret place your dreams, talents and your passion for the stage weren’t still alive in your heart.

I’d like to introduce you to a new way of thinking about who you are and what you have to offer.

Here it is:

Every one of us deserves to be the star of our own lives.

You see, I‘m an advocate and raving fan of creative ambition. I believe wholeheartedly that when we shine, we show our loved ones and others how they can shine too. I believe inspiration is contagious in the best way.

In this crazy, chaotic, disconnected, driven world full of rules and responsibilities – we need artists – we need you and your talent – to bring us back to the world of the living, back to our common humanity, back to our hearts, and our smiles and our long-lost dreams.

Yes. Starring in our own lives is in conflict with so much of what we are taught about how to be “good” by putting ourselves last.

But, is that the way you want to spend this one lifetime – last in line for the show? Is that what you want to model for your children? What does anyone in this world gain when you postpone your creative dreams?

We gain nothing. And we lose you – the true you – the one who shines.

I’d like to invite you to smash through those self-imposed and externally-imposed beliefs and limitations and take center stage as the star you are meant to be. And … together, we can do this without threat to your livelihood, without over-commitment and exhaustion, without up-rooting your life and your family, without alienating those you love and those who love you, and without minimizing the importance and value of the life you are living now.

Results

• Escape the bonds of negativity that keep you chained to your inner critic(s) Yes. You probably have more than one negative voice taking up space in your head. We’ll shake them loose. 
• Set yourself free to be the talented, adventurous creator you are. I’m not talking pie in the sky positive thinking. You will learn how to practice new self-coaching techniques that will pull you towards your dreams.
• Create sustainable systems and routines that help you take consistent action on your creative work without exhaustion. Focus, organization and productivity are the keys to energy and freedom. I call this “learning how to abide with your dream”. 
• Ultimately it will be impossible to deny the evidence of your success and achievement when you create and produce your own ‘Star Vehicle’ project designed to share your creative voice and your unique talent with your desired audience.

Program Offering

We will work together for 12 months. Is this your year? Really, any less time than that would merely be a band-aid.

Over those 12 months, we will connect by phone for 1 hour each month for program instruction, strategy, and planning.  We will also three 30-minute coaching sessions each month. The coaching sessions are less structured so we can focus on your growth and challenges. We will also be in touch via email, twitter, and facebook as needed. And, in case of creative emergency I will be available to you by phone or text.

We will use the metaphor and tools of theatre production to create and produce your ‘Star Vehicle’ project. I was raised in the theatre. It’s my realm. It’s the language I speak, but you may be a dancer, writer, artist or actor – the tools, practical tasks, planning and execution that bring a theatrical production to life will be the tools, tasks and vision that move you to your “opening night”. This is your ‘Star Vehicle’ project – it may be a gallery opening, a one-person show, an evening of choreography – or a multi-media extravaganza. We will work together to vision it, plan it, execute it, produce it, market it and open it.

Throughout the process of production you will have my support as your coach and my expertise as a consultant and you will learn:

• how to continually develop and grow as an artist
• self-coaching techniques – you will master these and own them when we complete our work
• productivity tools and techniques
• how to plan, promote and deliver your artistic vision

Using theatrical production as a metaphor – you will have an opening night, work through promotion, rehearsal, audience development, venue, mission, and all other technical details involved with a production. – Even though this model is based on theatrical terms – this is a model that works for any artist seeking creative fulfillment. The ‘Star Vehicle’ project adapts to any art form – writers may host a reading of their work, visual artists can produce their own gallery show, dancers – choreographers – actors and directors – may produce individual works or develop a company.e production of your project and the production of the life you create for yourself as an artist are parallel processes each with their own challenges, intrinsically linked. It won’t be satisfying to throw everything you love out the window or create upheaval, discord or stress. We will focus on how you live as an artist as well as how you work as an artist.

The care and feeding of your artist body, mind and soul. The care and feeding of the environment you live in and the relationships you share with others will not be left out of the process – they are vital to your life which means they are vital to your creative power.
